For this month's Buying & Selling Companies meeting, fellow member, and YEC Buying & Selling Companies chair, Ryan Tansom, led a discussion around employee stock ownership plans. 

One of the least understood exit options out there is the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. There are just as many horror stories as success stories. Ryan jumpstarted the conversation by providing an overview of ESOPs and how they really work. Members learned how an ESOP can be a very lucrative and tightly controlled exit option to liquidate some – or all – of your company’s financial value. He provided insights as to how you can continue to run your company as the CEO, while no longer having to pay state or federal taxes.
